1. When is a refund of contribution made? A refund of contribution is made where no pension is payable
2. When is a contributor eligible for a refund of contribution? A refund of contribution is made in the following circumstances: (a) If at time of ceasing to be a public officer or an employee, the contributor has never contracted a civil marriage and has not adopted a child. (b) If the contributor has contracted a civil marriage and no pension is payable in respect of that contribution. (c) If both spouses were contributors to the Scheme and one of them passes away. (d) If the contributor at the age of 60 was still in service and has opted to cease to contribute to the Scheme and where no pension is payable. This is applicable only to contributors in post as at 30.06.2008
3. How much is refunded? 100% contribution plus compound interest as follows: (i) Date of first contribution up to 31 December 1992 : 2.5% (ii) Contributions from 01 January to Eligibility Date : 4%
4. What documents do you have to produce when making a claim for a refund? (i) Your Birth Certificate and Identity Card, (ii) The Birth Certificate and Identity Card of your Spouse (if applicable), (iii) Your marriage certificate (if applicable), (iv) The Birth Certificate of your minor children (if applicable), (v) Death Certificate of Spouse (if applicable), (vi) Affidavit, (vii) Evidence of Divorce (if applicable), (viii) Your Bank Pass Book
